On June 21st 2021, I chatted with Rikki in-depth about how and why I started Pinion back in 2013, some of the challenges I faced and how I came to work with several TV and film productions to supply them with Pinion watches, including Fast and Furious 9 which was released on the same week.

Pinion worked with the costume department for Sister Pictures The Split Season 2 which is currently airing on BBC / BBC iPlayer.

Two of the leads of the show, Stephen Magnan and Annabell Scholey wear Axis II Steel and Bronze watches the six-episode duration of the series.

Firstly, if you’ve been watching BBC ones ‘McMafia’, which has just finished its first seasons’ run, you may have noticed Vadim, played by actor Merab Ninidza (Bridge of Spies) the Russian mob boss wearing a Pure Bronze LE.

McMafia is available to view on the BBC iPlayer and will make its USA premiere on February 26, 2018, on AMC.

The second series of TAKEN is already airing on NBC in the USA and on Amazon Instant Video for the rest of us. British Actor Clive Standen (Vikings) returns as Bryan Mills, who will be using his particular set of skills to deal with the bad guys while wearing the Pure Pro Black.

For the show, Pinion have supplied five watches including the Revival 1969, Pure and Axis II models that will be worn by leading cast members.

The NBC show is a modern day prequel adaptation of the popular action movies from director Luc Besson that starred Liam Neeson and will star British Actor Clive Standen as a young Bryan Mills before he had a wife and kids (which were kidnapped in the movies) and will focus on how Mills acquires his expert skills that enabled him to become the character known to audiences today.

Taken will also star Jennifer Beals as the female lead opposite Clive Standen who as the Special Deputy Director of National Intelligence will oversee an elite team of operatives taking care of America’s national security emergencies.

Built specifically for the film’s costume department, this watch and nylon strap has been modified to fit in with the futuristic military uniforms used in the film appearing damaged and covered in (fake) blood.

Having only just finished filming hit TV show, ‘Vikings Season 3‘ over in Ireland two weeks before, Clive (almost unrecognisable in short hair) who wears a Pinion Axis Black watch, enjoyed chatting with us and other guest whilst looking at our new collection of fine watches at the Saatchi Gallery in London.

Best known for playing the character of ‘Rollo’ in The History Channel’s Vikings, Clive is also known for roles in TV shows such as the BBC ONE’s Robin Hood, Doctor Who and Starz Camelot series.
