Based on Pinion’s best selling Axis Bronze, the Axis II Bronze GR furthers Pinion’s use of bronze alloy years after the 2013 original.

When first assembled, the solid bronze case is raw, but over time it develops a natural patina, creating a unique appearance.

The Swiss-made movement (ETA2824-2) provides reliability of timekeeping and the practicality of being automatically wound plus a subtle display of the date integrated into the dial.

The Axis II Bronze GR is designed, finished and tested in England by Pinion and made in strictly limited numbers.

Two specifications

The Axis II is available in two specifications based on the reverse of the watch. The ‘S’ model has a solid stainless steel case back that is engraved and numbered. However, for more detail, the ‘E’ model has a glass exhibition back, that allows the wearer to view the Swiss automatic movement (ETA 2824-2) with the addition of a Pinion decorated hunter green winding rotor.

Bronze

Back in 2013, Pinion was the first modern watch company to make a bronze cased watch (Axis) assembled and tested in England.

The appeal of a bronze cased watch is that when new the raw bronze case appears like rose gold. However, once worn over some time, the case develops a natural character or ‘patina’ on the surface. Because of this, the finish of each bronze watch is unique to the wearer and is perfect for showing both the time on the dial, but also the developing character of the case for the duration of wear.

Size

Sitting in between a large and small watch, at 42mm the Axis II is a practical modern sized watch that is highly wearable and appears more modest than it’s listed measurements.

This is due to the design of the case. The lugs that hold the leather watch strap have been produced to be quite short, meaning that the overall appearance of the watch on the wrist is one that could quite easily pass as a 40mm measurement.
